[Release: Strangers announce second single through Killing Moon Records]

That’s right kids – this lot are back on our books. It’s not as if they ever really went away at all, but we’re super stoked and proud as punch to be working alongside one of our favouritest bands in the whole wide world, not to mention some of our best friends. Here’s the press-releasey bit to explain what this is all about…

Forming in late 2010 Strangers is comprised of songwriter David Maddox-Jones, formerly of The Departure, producer Glen Nicholls (The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, Everything Everything) and band mates Raife Hacking and Piers Sherwood-Roberts.

After a year that saw the band release three EPs, earn plaudits across the blogosphere, find fans in Eddy Temple-Morris, Mary Ann Hobbs and John Kennedy at XFM and attention from the likes of Mixmag, Music Week and Artrocker, Strangers are now stepping things up and starting 2012 preparing to release their new single, Shine On You.

Harnessing a love of synths and huge 80’s pop rhythm, Strangers posses the ability to create epic-pop choruses with a sound that shimmers with an underlying sinister gothic feel; something that has been ever-present since their 2010 inception. Whereas previous material has edged along noir-pop styling’s, new single Shine On You sees the group take their love of dark synths and move them into a more euphoric electro pop setting.

Shine On You is set for a digital release through London label Killing Moon Limited (that’s us, right?) on 16th April 2012. While we’re putting the finishing touches to this, that and the other, live with their XFM-playlist lead tracker Promises and some of their more recent remix work which has got more than a few people excited about what’s about to come…

Great to hear about the new single. Is this to be download only? or is there to be a 7″ single as before?
